During chaos and confusion, it can be easy to feel overwhelmed and unsure of what to do. But in those moments, it’s important to remember that God is with us, guiding us and providing us with strength. Here are eight powerful ways to bring calm back into our chaos and find God in the midst of it all.
Remember that God is always with you – Isaiah 41:10 “So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”
Spend time in prayer and meditation – Psalm 91:1-2 “He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, ‘He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.'”
Trust in God’s sovereignty – Psalm 103:19 “The Lord has established his throne in heaven, and his kingdom rules over all.”
Seek God’s presence – Psalm 46:10 “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.”
Practice gratitude – Philippians 4:6 “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.”
Simplify your life and prioritize your priorities – Matthew 6:33 “But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.”
Seek counsel and support from others – Proverbs 15:22 “Plans fail for lack of counsel, but with many advisers they succeed.”
Take care of your physical and emotional health – 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 “Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies.”
In times of chaos, it can be easy to feel like we’re all alone, but that’s not the case. God is always with us, guiding us and providing us with strength. By seeking His presence, trusting in His sovereignty, practicing gratitude, and taking care of ourselves, we can find calm in the midst of chaos and know that we are not alone.
